Ink hates me. I swear.
I got sick of the pens I was using for my last few works. While the job got done quicker, quality was sacrificed. and I HATED that.
So, I got me a pack of BICs and decided to try my luck with some old school stuff. I drew this here pic of

and

for reasons unknown except it just came to me at work, like EVERYTHING does. Inked it with the BICs.
THIS is the result. The thing got frecked up beyond saving and I REALLY don't wanna have to resort to mousing a bit of it, since the ink experiments were supposed to get rid of that option.
But it seems that I'll have to go back nonetheless. While it's painstankingly time consuming, mouse inking makes better pictures. *sigh* What can you do?...
..and LAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUGH!
Seriously guys, equipment maketh not the great art. Admittedly it maybe helps the look a little, but you can make good looking art with very simple equipment.
As for graphics tablet expenses... I have one that cost no more than about £25 (not sure what that is exactly in $... probably somewhere close to about $45. Use XE) and I've found it to be very helpful.
And Micron pens and mechanical pencils? Only benefit of a mechanical is you don't have to sharpen it. And as for pens, I use.. I think it was Staedtler Pigment liners and they ink everything just dandy. Like I said at the start of this comment, you don't need great equipment to make great art. I use simple enough equipment and Sythiar does too (Sythiar being my g/f *Grins*).
Anyway, as for the pic itself. Tis very nicely done, apart from as noted already the inking's gone a bit awry here and there. I know I said great equipment doesn't necessarily = great art, but it has to be said that bad equipment certainly won't help it either. If you used the type of pen I'm thinking you used, then I'm not really surprised it went a bit bad here and there; in fact I'm impressed it came out so good if you're using what I think you used. Wings are very good... I'd like to be able to do wings as well as that (though I admit I haven't drawn very many). Prismaya's face for some reason reminds me of Sailor Jupiter... I have no idea why. o.o;
Andnow I've pretty much run out of stuff to say, so I might as well stop babbling now. n.n;
~SilverShadow.
Hybrid Pentels or MICRONS dude. There IS no other way.
I sure in hell can't do anything with damned BICS!
[Nice wing action!]
I've gotta be the only guy I know who does his comics with the most simplest of tools
